• Key Worker Provision over half term

  Our key worker provision based at Delves Infant School will be closed to children from Monday 25th May to Friday 29th May to allow for a deep clean of the school buildings.  The provision will reopen at Delves Junior School from Monday 1st June

• Parent Update 11th May 2020

  Dear Parents/Carers                                                                              

  Further to the Prime Minister’s briefing yesterday evening, detailing the potential return of Year 6 pupils from 1^st June.  We are still awaiting further clarification concerning this and like you, we have many questions about how this will work in practice.

   

  With this in mind, we ask that you do not contact school regarding this at the present time.  We will update all parents with further details when more information is available. We will need to prepare for how this will be managed safely with social distancing measures in place and factors such as numbers of teaching staff available.  As always our primary concern will be the safety of children in school.

  Home Learning Update

  We know that you are working hard to support your children with their learning at home.  We will continue to put English and Maths lessons on the Class Pages for each day as well as wider curriculum activities.  We can also recommend the lessons and resources from BBC Bitesize and Oak Academy found on the links on the Home Learning page.

• Keyworker Care over Easter

  Our key worker care provision will be closed from Monday 6 April until Friday 17 April.

  If you are a keyworker and require care during this period we may be able to arrange this at another local setting with 24 hours notice.

• Uniform Day!

  As we normally have a non-uniform day on the last day of term, we are suggesting that tomorrow we have a 'uniform day'! We would like children to put on their school uniform and send a picture to the blog and/or Twitter. Staff will be joining in too! We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

• Clarification on care for children of key workers

  With regards to care for children following the closure of schools, advice regarding key workers is varied.  Initially we will ensure care is available for families with 2 key workers and for vulnerable children, when we are clear on numbers involved if we have enough staff to accommodate families with one key worker parent we will arrange this at the earliest opportunity. This may mean that not all children who need it can access care in school from Monday but we are trying to react as quickly as possible to a very difficult situation.

• World Book Day

  Well done and thank you to everyone who took the time to dress-up for our Oliver Twist themed World Book Day today. You all looked fabulous!

  The children enjoyed learning about life in Victorian Times as well as writing scripts based on the Charles Dickens classic and acting them out.

• Year 4 Woodlands
