Computing
Our Computing curriculum aims to ‘ensure that pupils become digitally literate – able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information and communication technology – at a level suitable for the future workplace and as active participants in a digital world.’ (National curriculum in England: computing programmes of study 2013)
Specialist staff from Junior Jam deliver our Computing curriculum. Their programme teaches pupils to create programs, systems and a range of content while encouraging them to express themselves and develop their own ideas. There is an emphasis on how what is learnt can be used in a future working environment, as our world is becoming increasingly rich with technology; children are learning about the possibilities and careers that may be linked with their studies.
Using technology safely is always a priority and E-Safety is taught throughout each year group and is also part of our Character Education, RHE and Votes for Schools sessions. We also celebrate Safer Internet Day.

Here are a couple of examples of the compositions that children created as part of their iSong sessions.
