Yoga

Yoga

At our school, we believe in supporting the whole child—their wellbeing, confidence, focus, and physical development. As part of our commitment to creating a calm and positive learning environment, we offer Yoga sessions for our pupils during Enrichment Days.

Why Yoga?

Yoga helps children to:

  • Improve concentration and stay focused in class
  • Develop strength, balance and coordination
  • Build emotional resilience
  • Manage stress and big feelings through breathing techniques
  • Boost confidence and self‑esteem
  • Promote calmness and readiness to learn
  • Begin to learn basic neuroscience and how understanding the brain can help us to manage our physical and mental state.

What Our Sessions Look Like

Our Yoga sessions are age‑appropriate and engaging. Children enjoy:

  • Simple poses and stretches
  • Breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Mindfulness activities
  • Partner and group activities to build co-operation
  • Activities and games which teach and develop understaning of the relationsip between brain and body.

Sessions are led by our qualified instructor, Miss Cartwright.

Wellbeing at the Heart

Yoga is part of our wider Wellbeing and Healthy Schools initiative, encouraging children to look after their bodies and minds.  Many pupils say it helps them feel calm, focused and ready to learn—particularly during busy parts of the school week.

Working Together

We encourage children to share what they learn at home too. Even a few minutes of slow breathing or gentle stretching can make a big difference to a child’s wellbeing.
