On Monday 16th March, Years 3 & 5 were lucky enough to participate in a drumming workshop led by Jeff Rich. The pupils learnt about the history of drums, the many different types that there are and how they are played. The children also played alongside Jeff, accompanying him on a variety of percussion instruments. We hope that the amazing drum masterclass has encouraged and inspired many pupils to become involved in music in the future.
In order to enrich our study of the Science and DT curriculum, we are hoping to take Year 5 to visit Jaguar Land Rover in Castle Bromwich. The visit will be a full day visit. The children will experience a factory tour with an experienced guide, which will show how a modern manufacturing facility operates. This will further be supported by a production challenge which will involve teamwork and communication opportunities. We feel this is an invaluable trip which will enhance the children’s understanding of the world of work, and make connections between what they are learning in the classroom and real life business and manufacturing practice.
The visits have been booked for Tuesday 4th February and Monday 10th February2019.
