Lower School Sports Day

Monday, July 10th, 2006
Weather permitting, lower school sports day will take place tomorrow (Tuesday). We will be using the Walstead Road Playing Fields, entrance opposite the Tiger pub, and aim to start at 9.45 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend, but must make their own arrangements for seating.

Children will need to bring a plastic bag to sit on. They will also be able to bring their water bottles, but please bear in mind there are no toilet facilities available.

Children should come to school as usual, in their school uniform, and bring their PE kit (house colours) with them. If it is likely to be sunny, please ensure your child has a hat and that sun lotion has been applied. We anticipate that events will finish at approximately 11.30 a.m. and all children will then return to school.

To aid the management of the classes and smooth running of sports day, we would be grateful if, during the events, all parents could remain in the area designated for spectators.

If the weather is poor, parents can ring school from 9 a.m. to find out if Sports Day will still be going ahead. If it is necessary to cancel we shall try to rearrange for later in the week, but it may not be possible to give parents much notice.

Partial School Closure

Tuesday, July 4th, 2006

We are having major work done to the ceilings in Years 5 and 6 over the Summer holiday. In order that we can be ready to re-open to children in September, school will close for the Summer break for Year 5 and 6 children on Wednesday 19th July. This is one day before our published date. We apologise for the short notice, but the work and time schedule was only confirmed by Walsall’s Establishment Team yesterday.

School will close for the Summer break for Year 3 and 4 children on Thursday 20th July.

School will re-open for all children on Wednesday 6th September 2006.
